24th April 2022. I went on the internet and I found….

Goddess Hecate by Louiz Brito

Good Morning witches

As some of you might now I’ve had a change in accommodation recently, which has moved me out of my protected space in to a new room in the house. Anyway I needed some art to put up to start to make the space my own and I went looking for a nice print of the Goddess to put up on my wall. I wanted something that would make me think and something I could use as an Icon as well. The one I picked in the end is this one, Goddess Hecate by Louiz Brito a Brazilian Illustrator. What I love about this print is that is show the essential aspects of the Goddess. The moon, Maiden Mother Crone, keys, looking in all directions, two torch’s. It also has a sense of power and magik about it that I just loved. The print shows everything I look to the Goddess for, power, wisdom, knowledge and mystery. This is a lady that you don’t mess with but clearly shows her inner power and outer beauty. Although Louiz has shown the triple aspect in an individual form, where more traditional depictions would have them merged in to one being, I kinda of like that he’s separated them, yet there is a sense that they are joined. I also like that he’s shown her standing out on the misty moor land under a full moon. You can imagine her stood at the cross roads ready to guide you on your path. I do like the gothic look about her, it’s add’s to the sense of power and mystique. Although the print is quite dark I don’t feel the darker aspect of the Goddess, but then I rarely do see that in her anyway. To me she isn’t a “dark” deity at the best of times, and I think that’s a part of her that is over played by those who don’t really know her that well.

Having her up on my wall just add’s to the protections I already have in place. When you move in to a new house or room it’s always a good idea to cleans it out. Get a bit of sage going and clear out the space of the old energy. One thing I was always taught, and I still stick to it, if you smudge out a space you need to quickly add in something to replace it or it will fill up again with negative energy very quickly so this week I’ve had the oil burner going with lots of light scents (lots of Jasmin, sandalwood and lime) just to build up the energy in the room a bit as it was a bit flat for a while. Next weekend is new moon and Beltane so I’ll finish off putting some of the more complex protections in next weekend. But I’m happy at the moment that at the new room is protected enough. So think again if anyone was going to try and Astro in or try and send out a Hex. It’s going to come back to you three fold!

To welcome the Goddess on to my wall I used this little chant. I can’t remember where I found it so I can’t post up the credits for it.

Blessed Hekate, great mother, I am grateful for your presence in my life

Great Hekate, who spins the web of stars and governs the spiral of life

I welcome you as Guardian, Queen of the under world

I welcome you as Guide of the middle world

I welcome you as Gatekeeper of the Mysteries

I honour you as the Guardian of the crossroads of the middle world, the universal key holder, and I seek your guidance along my earth-bound journey

Blessed be

I hope you all have a blessed week.
