8th January 2023 Well back to it then…

Good morning witches!

For many of us, this is the first week that we are back to the day jobs full time and all thoughts of Yule and Christmas are well behind us. There is always that feeling of “what now” after any major festival, once the decorations have been taken down and thrown in to a box, the Yule log has been put away (in my case) and the house has been cleaned to get ride of the lingering smell of Mince Pies and incense. I hope you all had a good smudging on Fridays full moon.

No matter what your Spiritual practice is, one of the big push’s you’ll have to do is to get back in to your daily practice after a Sabbat / festival. It can seem a bit lack lustre and hard work just to sit back in front of your altar and try and get a connection with your Deity again. I mean, do they clock out after a Sabbat, take a bit of Deity me time? It can after feel like that when everything seems to be a bit flat and heavy going.

Firstly and most importantly don’t be to hard on yourself. This past week, when it was as short week, the most I’ve been able to do is to sit in front of my Altar, light a candle and use my Mindfulness app (Calm in case anyone was wondering) to do a 10 min lead mindful breathing exercise. That’s about all I could muster the energy for after getting used to early mornings and late finish’s again, and getting back in to the weekly routine of food shopping and all the other things that we need to do.

We’ve got a couple of weeks before we need to start thinking about Imbolc, I must admit that Imbolc usually is a very quiet time for me as I’m still recovering from the riggers of a family Christmas and all that extra time off. So for this week lets take it easy and not rush back in to Craft. Spend the time just trying to settle and reconnecting with the daily rituals and establishing a connection back to Nature and to the Goddess. Get out for walks in the woods, strap on your wellies and go splash in the mud and puddles. Spend time just sitting and breathing in your sacred space and just be for 10 mins. Ritual bath’s are also a good way to get the energy flowing again. Add few drops of lavender oil to your bath water, throw in a hand full of Epsom Salts and just relax and let your mind settle. That’s all I can expect from myself at this time of year.

I hope you all have a good first full week back at the grind stone and just remember, You are Witch and you can do this!

Have a blessed week Laters witches!
