Good morning witches and I hope your all well on the run up to Solstice.
When ever I think about mid summer my thoughts always turn to stone henge and what it would be like to see the sun rise above the stones. One day, I keep telling my self I will go and see it for myself. It must been off those truly magical moments that are few and far between in the modern world.
Traditionally midsummer was a time to celebrate the sun being at it’s full power, with long days and short nights. Enjoying the warm weather. It was a slight pause in the season’s everything is planted and growing well. The young animals have all been born and baby lambs and cow’s are all around. The country side is full of colour and flowing plants. Everything is well and you could take a few moments to celebrate. It marks the half way point of the year.
In more recently times, for a lot of us, midsummer has gives us a chance to take a pause. Just as the ancestors did. Although these days we’re not all out working the land and trying to build up stores to get us through the winter months ahead, we’re all still just as busy working our jobs. Its trying to get through the month now for most of us, rather than trying to make sure we get through the winter. Although perhaps this year for a lot of us getting through the winter should perhaps be the goal, thank you oil producing country’s for hiking your prices to make up for the short fall during lockdowns.
For me personally as I reflect on the first half of the year I’m in a better position then I was at the start of it in many ways, but also I’ve lost a few things in the last 6 months to be able to be in a better position. working extra hours for a bit more cash has seen the piggy bank grow a little bit but I’m losing time for myself and for the things I really care about in the process. I guess that’s the way it goes these days. In order to be able to survive the “winter months” I’ve had to give up some of the things that I Love to do. And that can’t be right in anyones book, and perhaps that should be something I need to address in the next half of the year.
One of the things I look forward to most at this time of the year is doing my solstice reading. You can purchase the card layout from the on line shop. I can honestly say that reading I did back at Ostara was very accurate and I’m itching to see what the next 3 months have in store for me. Never know, my numbers might come up and I’ll be set for life!
What ever your plans are for Solstice I hope you have a wonderful time and get to see a bit more of what the Goddess has in store for you
